Delaney is brutally honest in her poem and her own pain is felt by so many people. I've stood by my son through this same situation and I have cried for Delaney and her family since I first read about her passing. I keep praying god brings peace to her family and they understand she is with God and no one else can ever hurt her again. It's important the family members understand how much she loves you.

Delaney is a very beautiful young lady. I am so sorry for your loss. What a brave and noble thing you did in including her letter in Delaney’s obituary. I will pray that God uses it mightily to save many others from this terrible epidemic of addiction we have in America.
May God Bring You Comfort and Healing

I'm so sorry for your loss. No parent should have to bury their child. I have to say I can completely relate to her. I remember some of those exact days she describes here. Thankfully now I'm clean & sober but it took me a while to get here. I believe her story is inspirational. RIP Delaney

There has been so much said... I thought what could I say to Express how moving this story was... she is inspirational ..in her legacy.. i believe not one person who reads this is not moved to be a better person, friend, parent, sibling, listing ear... and that's pretty amazing .. that she could move that many people... I do agree with allot of the comments about the family seeing her again, and that's also comforting... she is safe now in Gods memory.. until she rises again... but as she is asleep now... she continues to inspire.. thank you for sharing this with the world..

I would like to first start off by saying, I’m so sorry for your lost. The lost of a loved one is so heart breaking and you may wonder will the suffering ever end? Well I’d like to leave you with this Text from the Bible. Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I hope you find comfort in this. I will keep you guys in my prayers.

My most sincere condolences. While words fail to capture pain of losing a loved one, we certainly look forward to the day when joy replaces sorrow as our loving God promises at Revelation 21:4.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Death is the hardest thing that we have to deal with because we were never meant to experience it. I hope this scripture brings comfort to your family during this hard time.

I’m so sorry for your loss. The Bible holds out a hope for our love ones that have fallen asleep in death found at John 5: 28-29, as well as a comfort for those that mourn found at Revelation 21:3-4. I hope this gives you peace.

I am truly sorry for your loss. When we are faced with unbearable pain, we can find comfort in the hope found in the Bible. God promises to comfort us in all our trials. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) He promises that those who have fallen asleep in death will have the prospect of living forever in paradise. “And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection.“ (Acts 24:15) There will be a resurrection, and those who are brought back will not worry about sickness, pain, or death. (Revelation 21:4) May this hope comfort your greiving hearts at this difficult time.

So very sorry for your loss. Losing those we love is a heartbreaking experience, but God cares and through his word he comforts us. "He hears your prayers and sees your tears."(2 Kings 20:5 ) and Acts 24:15 says there will be a resurrection. What a wonderful hope to see your loved one again. I send my deepest condolences to your family.

I didn't know Delaney or even her family but I've known many who have struggled with addiction. I'm sure when she wrote this she didn't know how many people she would touch with her words. God is looking over her now as he's looking over all our loved ones who have gone before us. XO
