Albert C. Hall
Born April 5, 1945, in Milton, he was the son of the late Charles B. Sr. and Grace (Romig) Hall. On June 27, 1970, he married Mary (Strouse) Roup and they would have celebrated 47 years of marriage this June.
He was a 1963 graduate of Milton High School and a veteran of the Army.
Al worked as an auto mechanic for 54 years and also sold Studebaker car and truck parts for 50 years.
He was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville, where he sang in the choir, was a communion leader, deacon, and elder of the church. He enjoyed activities with their men's group and participated in the live nativity.
Currently, Al was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Strawberry Ridge, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and singing solos.
He was a member of the National Studebaker Drivers Club; charter member and past president from 1995-1996 of the local chapter Keystone Region SDC; and past membership secretary of Keystone Region from 1972 to 1976. He was a former secretary of the Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Company.
Albert played Santa Claus for 42 years at area fire halls, churches, scout troops, car clubs, nursing homes, private homes, at the Jane DeLong Building in Washingtonville, and for the homeless veterans in Orangeville. He loved country music with his favorites being Hank Williams Sr., and Doc and Chickie Williams. He also loved driving their 1932 Studebaker car and earlier in life, his Suzuki motorcycle. He enjoyed attending the car shows and swap meets at Carlisle, Hershey, Reedsville and York.
He loved camping and traveling in their motorhome, and loved his wife, Mary and their family including their dog, Maggie and their former pets.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 46 years are two daughters and sons-in-law, Holly (Doug) Buchhalter and Gail (Tom) Summers, all of Riverside; a granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer (Kyle) Alexander; three great-grandchildren, Jason, Kami, and Zander, all of Danville; one sister, Helen Schuyler, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were three sisters, Verna Mae Hall, Mary Catherine Hall, and Betty Digan; and a brother, Charles "Bud" Hall.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17 at Trinity United Church of Christ, Strawberry Ridge with his pastor, Shawn McNett officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.
