Anna Belle Hawkins

Anna Belle Hawkins Anna Belle Foust Hawkins, 93, of Danville, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Heritage Springs Memory Care Center, Lewisburg, where she had been a resident.
Ann was born June 24, 1925, in Hughesville, a daughter of the late George and Elsie (Sones) Foust.

Ann graduated from Muncy High School and Geisinger School of Nursing. While attending nursing school, she served in the Nurses Corp at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., where she met her future husband, Douglas Hawkins, who was hospitalized with injuries incurred in France during World War II. They were married for more than 50 years. He preceded her in death in 1999.

She worked in Employee Health at Geisinger Hospital for several years.

Ann was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Danville. She also participated in numerous community activities including Soroptimist International. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed golfing, painting, and traveling.

She is survived by three sons, Douglas, Gregory, and James and his wife, Ruth Ann; a devoted and loving grandmother to Erika Hawkins Jenneman and her husband Scott, Aaron Hawkins and his wife Jaime, Michael Hawkins and his wife Susan, Kristin Hawkins Chen and her husband Peter, Joshua Hawkins and his wife Mindy, Lisa Hawkins Showers and her husband Robert, and Jaki Hawkins; 17 great- grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Foust; and two sisters, Mary Otto and Jane Troutman.

The Hawkins Family is grateful and deeply appreciative of the outpouring of love shown to Ann over the years. A special thanks to Roxie Marshall who was her caretaker and friend and to the staff at Heritage Springs Memory Care Center who were always loving, respectful, and gentle with her. Thank you also to her pastors at First Baptist Church and the numerous friends who have reached out to her and the family in so many ways.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ann's life to be held at noon Friday, at First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville (off 642 East) with the Rev. Dr. Harry H. Wonderland, Pastor Emeritus, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dawes J. Dunham, Senior Pastor.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be private in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.

Memorial contributions in Ann's memory may be made to Evangelical Hospice, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg PA 17837, or First Baptist Church of Danville Building Fund, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville, PA 17821.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville.
