Anna Marie Sechler

Anna Marie Sechler left this world Wednesday, May 2, 2018, much too soon for her family and friends, but at peace and ready for her next adventure.

Most recently of Catawissa and previously of Williamsport, Annie was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Danville, daughter of the late Anna (Hickey) and Chester Marcinkiewicz.

After graduating from Danville High School, Annie lived in Morristown, New Jersey, before moving back home to Danville. She then enrolled in the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at the former Williamsport Area Community College. A caregiver by profession, she worked for more than 30 years as a LPN at Maria Joseph Manor, Geisinger Medical Center and Evangelical Community Hospital. More recently she was a private duty nurse.

Annie's boundless love, caring nature and generosity of spirit were evidenced in her work and were sown upon her family as well as the many people fortunate enough to call her friend. Her laughter was infectious and her outlook ever optimistic. She was gifted with a great singing voice, and could dance with the best of them. She had a flair for style and took great pride in making her home an inviting place. She possessed enough energy to power a small city and loved to travel, but equally valued going out to lunch with the girls.

She attended Catawissa First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir.

Annie leaves behind her cherished children, Amy Coup of Pittsburgh and Charles "CJ" Sechler of Pollock, Louisiana; son-in-law, Todd Coup of Pittsburgh; grandsons, Ryan Coup and Spencer Coup, both of Pittsburgh; her beloved sister, Pamela Howlett of Williamsport; several nieces and nephews; lots of cousins; and many, many friends.

Annie taught us to embrace life, hold tight to family, value friendship and above all else, to laugh. The best way to honor her memory is to follow in her very energetic footsteps.

A celebration of Annie's life will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Catawissa First United Methodist Church, 228 South Street, with the Rev. Susan O. Rogutski officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Hospital - Memorial and Honor Gifts, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
