Arlene Betty Fisher Arlene Betty Fisher, 94, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Emmanuel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville.
She was born June 29, 1924, in Danville, a daughter of the late Ray and Grace (Gotschal) Garman. On Sept. 4, 1943, she married Kenneth William Fisher who preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage.

Arlene graduated from Danville High School.
She was employed at the Danville State Hospital as a psychiatric aide for 35 years, from where she retired.
She was a member of St. Paul's (Straub's) Lutheran Church, Danville, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.
Arlene enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader. She loved traveling to Canada and camping there with her family. She was an avid reader, loved taking bus trips, and playing pinochle with her sisters. Arlene's greatest joy in life came from spending quality time with her family, whom she adored.

Arlene is survived by two daughters, Darlene Elaine Gerst of Danville and Pamela Jean McBride of Gainesville, Va.; one grandson, Joshua Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Tanner and Trevor Gerst; one sister, Eldoras Martz of Buckhorn; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Albert Kenneth Gerst Jr.; one grandson, Albert Kenneth Gerst III; one brother, Lawson Garman; and one sister, Nancy Heller.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Arlene's life to be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's (Straub's) Lutheran Church, 639 Frosty Valley Road, Danville, with Pastor Vicky Schaffner officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
