Audrey Estelle Donnelly passed on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at Lifecare Center on Hilton Head Island, S.C., surrounded by her children.
Born at home in Jersey City, N.J. on Dec. 26, 1926, to Col. Earl W. Estelle and Shirley (Deering) Estelle, she lived 90 very full years.
She attended Juilliard and NYU before marrying her funny valentine, Walter F. Donnelly, on Dec. 1, 1951. They were married until his death on Jan. 17, 2006.
After raising their children in Packanack Lake, N.J., they retired to Danville, Pa.
Audrey was a true renaissance woman who held championships in both golf and tennis, was an accomplished pianist with the voice of an angel, created 4 of her daughters' wedding dresses as well as Christening gowns, competed at a masters level in bridge, enjoyed a fun career as a music educator, and did all with great calm, patience and love.
She was dedicated to and will be greatly missed by her seven children and their spouses, Mary Ellen and Warren Baranski, Kathleen and Derek DiRocco, William and Gale Donnelly, Diane and David McKinley, John Donnelly and Steven Yergeau, Patricia and Thomas Maciag, Susan and Thomas Kirk; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on her 91st birthday at St. Francis by the Sea RC Church on Hilton Head Island, with interment at Arlington National Cemetary with her beloved husband at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Danville Area Community Foundation, Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund and addressed to The Central Susquehanna Community Foundation, 725 W. Front St., Berwick, PA 18603.
