Ceylon S. "Lon" Reinard Jr., 69, of Rhoades Hill Road, Danville, passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 11, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Sept. 23, 1948, in Sunbury, a son of the late Ceylon S. Sr. and Shirley M. (Rae) Reinard. On July 13, 1973, he married the former Cynthia S. Belinsky who survives.
Lon was a 1966 graduate of Selinsgrove High School and attended the Williamsport Community College.
He had been employed as a bookkeeper at several area businesses. He was a long time Derry Township tax collector.
He was a member of the Hummels Wharf, Kratzerville, Washingtonville, and South Side Fire companies, and a member of the Mid Penn Sportsmen Club and the NRA. Earlier he had served as a Cub Scout leader for Pack 48, Danville.
Lon enjoyed deep sea fishing in Delaware, boating, yard sales, baking, canning and cooking for his family. He loved animals and always had a dog by his side.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Christina S. and John Kimber, of Danville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ceylon "Lonnie" III and Tammy Reinard, of Hughesville, Chad S. and Cathy Reinard, of Dayton, Ohio, and Craig S. Reinard and his long time girlfriend, Taylor Burkhart, of Danville; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, Max, Sophia, Christian, Caitlyn, and Connor; one aunt, Fay Reinard, of Lewisburg; nieces, Jennifer Moyer and Melissa Vayda; cousins, Donna and Debbie; and his German Shepherd, Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Romero Gallo.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Fairview "Verdilla"Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
