Charles W. Rine

Charles W. Rine, 87, of 33 Beaver Run Road, Danville, died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for 12 days. He had been in failing health for three months.

He was born Jan. 20, 1931, in Lewisburg, a son of the late John A. and Ruth E. (Mack) Rine.

He resided in Liberty Township since 1940 and was a 1948 graduate of Danville High School.

Charles was a lifelong farmer.

He was a member of the Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church, Potts Grove, a life member of the Danville Elks, the Susquehanna Valley Corral and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Charles enjoyed riding cutting horses and will be greatly missed by his Australian Shepherd, Ben.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jean I. Love with whom he celebrated his 67th wedding anniversary on Dec. 1, 2017; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith C. and Kimberly Rine and Joel W. and Katherine Rine, and one daughter, Judy L. Rine, all of Danville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Lance Martin; and one brother, Mack Rine.

A celebration of his life will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in the Rine Farm Garage.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Straub's Cemetery, Valley Township.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
