Dorothy Mae Stump
She was born July 27, 1929, in Danville, the daughter of the late John and Lucille A. (Mordan) Saricks.
Dorothy graduated from Danville Area High School in 1948.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Harry Stump Sr. whom she married July 1, 1950.
Dorothy was employed for more than 30 years in the textile industry, working alongside her husband until she retired.
She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and spent many hours working to complete the present church. She was a faithful and devoted church member up until her health began to decline.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking and took great pride in her home always beautifully decorated for the seasons. She loved traveling to the beach and the Thousand Island region for vacation with her family. Dorothy's greatest enjoyment in life was spending quality time with her family and loved ones.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Harry Stump Jr. and his wife Marie of Danville; and two grandchildren whom she adored, Kyle and his fiancée, Katie Messinger of Milton and Caitlin Stump of Danville. Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Clair Stump and his wife Nancy of Danville, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by two premature infant daughters; one brother, Donald Saricks; and one sister, Eleanor Kelly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dorothy's Life at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 316 Lombard Ave., Danville, with Pastor David Layser and the Rev. Rayvon Hilliard officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
The family will provide flowers.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Trinity United Methodist Church.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville.
