Edward's Story

Edward L. Georges, 93, of Danville, passed away on Jan. 30, 2018, at Vintage Knolls Senior Living Community.

He was born June 18, 1924, in Hartford, Conn. He married Susan (Tsirikos) Georges, and they spent 59 loving years together before her passing in 2008.

Edward proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps. He loved to sing and to tell jokes.

He is survived by three sons, one daughter, and numerous grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Constantine "Gus" Georges, and was the last surviving of his siblings.

His family wishes to express their gratitude to "Eddie's" extended family and caregivers at Vintage Knolls, who showed him incredible kindness during his stay. To all those that cared about Edward, his son, Andrew, wishes to share, "U.S. Marines don't worry about how fast or how far we fall or why we fall, it's what we do after we land, and Dad landed well."

Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. Military funeral honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 40.
