Eleanor L. Wray, 94, formerly of 114 Mowery St., Danville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at Grandview Nursing Home Inc., Danville.
She was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Danville, a daughter of the late Wilbur R. and Hilda M. (Heimmiller) Raup. On May 14, 1947, Eleanor married Bruce E. Wray who preceded her in death on May 17, 2000.
Eleanor was a 1940 graduate of Danville Area High School.
She was employed for 29 years by Danville Manufacturing and then retired from Danville State Hospital in 1985 after 13 years as supervisor of housekeeping.
She was a member of the Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church and Danville Chapter #186 Order of the Eastern Star.
Eleanor enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, June L. Livziey and Dorothy C. VonBlohn, both of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald R. Raup and Bruce E. Wray II; two brothers, Donald W. Raup and James R. Raup; and two sisters, Joanne Reibsome and Margaret Raup.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Thursday at Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church, 407 Pine St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11:30 with the Rev. Dr. Lois D. Martin officiating.
Burial will be private in Kase Cemetery, Riverside.
