Harry A. Walters Harry A. Walters, 77, of Danville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born July 10, 1941, in Danville, a son of the late Lester and Mary Ellen (Jarrett) Walters. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Anna Lewis Walters whom he married May 5, 1962.

Harry graduated from Danville High School in 1959. He served his country in the Navy as a Corpsman.
He was employed as a psychiatric aide at Danville State Hospital for 32 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Danville. His other memberships included the Danville American Legion, Southside Fire Company, and the Buckhorn Hunting Lodge.
Harry was known as a gentle giant, but powerful with his kind and loving heart. He made people laugh whenever he had an opportunity. He loved the outdoors with fishing, hunting, walking and gardening. Harry was an avid history buff and loved reading to his grandchildren. He was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. A dedicated Danville sports fan, he was particularly fond and proud of watching his grandsons wrestle. He will be greatly missed by his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wesley I. Walters and Amy, and Michael T. Walters and his wife Kelly, all of Danville; one daughter, Christine Ann of Watsontown; four grandchildren, Chloe, Jarrett, Logan and Mikella Walters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Wesley Scott Walters on July 31, 2000; one brother, Robert Walters; and one sister, Geraldine Pickin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Harry's life at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville, Off 642 East) with the Rev. Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Friends will be received from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow in St. Paul's (Straub's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Danville. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Harry's memory to the Danville American Legion, P.O. Box 222, Danville, PA 17821, or to the church.
