Helen "Jean" Reeder Eveland, 88, of 416 Pine St., Danville, made her journey home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at her residence.
She was born June 10, 1928, in Danville, a daughter of the late Beatrice V. Reeder. She was married to James R. Eveland who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1999. They were married Feb. 21, 1948, in Hagerstown Md.

Jean graduated from Danville High School in 1946 where she was a majorette for four years, and from the Harrisburg Business School.
In her earlier years. she worked as a supervisor for the Naval Photographic Center for several years before moving to Danville in 1972. Jean worked for the former District Justice Robert Geiger when she relocated to Danville and was later employed as the secretary for the Planning Commission and Food Pantry of the Montour County Courthouse for 15 years, retiring in 1991. After retirement, Jean enjoyed working part time taking photos for PA Driver's Licenses in Danville.
She was a member of St. Paul's Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Danville, the Danville Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Post 40, the Danville Moose and the Eastern Star.
Jean loved all aspects of photography. She also had a deep love for all kinds of music and especially enjoyed shopping. Many loving memories will be cherished by her family whom she adored spending holidays and special occasions with.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela J. and Richard Mauray, of Elysburg; and one granddaughter, Kimberly L. Guyer and her husband Timothy, of Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Deck.

Relatives and friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11:30, with the Rev. Joan Brown of Grace United Church of Christ, Mount Carmel, officiating.
Burial will be private in Strawberry Ridge Cemetery, Washingtonville.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in Jean's memory may be made to St. Paul's Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 305 Pine St., Danville, PA 17821.
