Janice M. Powers, 82, of Danville passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at Maria Hall, Danville, under the care of the Columbia Montour Hospice.
She was born June 23, 1933, in Nanticoke, the only child of the late Wyrewood and Mayme (Poslock) Flowers. Janice attended Nanticole Area High School and graduated from Wyoming Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She married her husband Robert who preceded her in death in 2001 ending a 47 year marriage.
Janice was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville. She enjoyed watching Phillies baseball and attending her grandchildren's activities over the years.
She is survived by one daughter, Margaret "Peg" Quinton and son-in-law Lee; one son, Mark Powers and daughter-in-law Diane; three grandchildren, Lance and his wife Lacey, Kelly and her husband Jason, and Shauna Powers; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Quinton and Jacob and Leah Westfall.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brady Funeral Home Inc., 320 Church St., Danville, where the funeral will be held at 11 with her pastor the Rev. Trevor Hahn officiating.
Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
