Jeffrey A. Greeley Jeffrey A. Greeley, 68, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 19, 1949, a son of Joan (Gearhart) Greeley and the late Michael "Bill" Greeley.

Jeff worked as a welder throughout the area, and was self-employed. He was an active member in the Greenwood Valley Hunting Club, the VFW Post 298, American Legion Post 40, Continental Fire Company, a lifetime member of Friendship Fire Company where he volunteered as both a firefighter and EMT, Point Township Fire Company, Liberty Fire Company, East End Fire Company, Washies, and was a shareholder of the Milton Fish and Game Commission. Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was known to have the best turtle soup in the Valley.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, the former Donna Houseknecht; his son, Scott Houseknecht and his wife Julie of Danville; his daughter, Jennifer Strausser and her husband Todd of Danville; five grandchildren, Jacob, Josh, Wesley (who is stationed at the Fort Sill Army Post in Oklahoma), Morgan, and Gage; and two great-grandchildren, Able and Elena. He is also survived by his mother, Joan Greeley of Sunbury; his brother, Howdy Greeley of Limestoneville; and two sisters, Michaela Bonawitz and her husband Tim of State College, and Molly Bauman of Bloomsburg.

In addition to his stepfather Bill, Jeff was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Megan.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Pine Street Lutheran Church, 407 Pine St., Danville, followed by the funeral service at 11 with Rev. John R. Koons officiating.

The family will provide flowers.
