John R. Krum, 94, a guest at Grandview Health Homes, formerly of Mowry Street, Danville, passed away on April 27, 2016, at Grandview.
He was born May 4, 1921, in Danville, a son of the late Alonzo and Adda (Sears) Krum.
After finishing his education, John enlisted in the Army where he proudly served from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1946.
After his service, he owned and operated John Krum Construction and Building. During his retirement, he owned and operated a ceramics business with his wife.
John was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 40 and the East End Fire Company, and a member of the Moose.
John is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Jr. and Carol Krum, of Delaware; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bill Rogers, of Danville; seven grandchildren, Laurie, Amy, Angela, Timothy, Kathlleen, Deborah and Donald; 13 grerat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the former Henrietta Waite; four brothers, Alonzo, Roland, Calvin, and Frederick Krum; and two sisters, Agnes Hower and Mary Alice Cardiskey.
At the request of John, funeral services will be private and for the immediate family.
Entombment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady Funeral Home of Danville.
