Kathryn I. Warner, 88, of Northumberland County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Grandview Health Homes, Danville.
She was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Mahoning Township, a daughter of the late J. Henry and Marion S. (Krum) Warner.
Kathryn was a 1947 graduate of Danville High School.
She was employed by Danville State Hospital for more than 30 years where she worked in various administrative positions, retiring in 1988.
She was a faithful member of Mahoning Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Sunday school teacher, treasurer, choir member and Circle leader. She also served as chairperson of the Worship Committee.
In addition to her servant heart for the church, Kathryn enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in her garden and maintaining the grounds on the family farm. One of her greatest enjoyments on the farm was watching the wide variety of wildlife which inhabits the area. She had a great love for animals, especially cats and dogs. She also enjoyed traveling to the West Coast and to Florida in her earlier years.
She will be greatly missed by her sister, Julia A. Warner, with whom she resided all of her life.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James F. Warner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Kathryn's Life to be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mahoning Presbyterian Church, 106 E. Mahoning St., Danville, with the Rev. Graham Rogers officiating. Friends will be received from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
