Louise's Story

Louise B. Taylor, 97, formerly of Bernard Lane, Danville, a guest at Sentra Woodview Nursing Home in South Boston, Va., died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, in Virginia.

She was born May 17, 1919, in Trenton, Mo., a daughter of the late William F. and Mary Louise (Youngman) Bodeker. She married William I. Taylor on Nov. 18, 1942, and they spent 62 loving years together before his death in 2005.

Louise attended Danville schools and graduated from Geisinger School of Nursing in 1940. She served in the Army Air Corps as a nurse during World War II.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Danville, and was an associate of the Sisters of St. Cyril and Methodius.
She is survived by one son, Michael Taylor, of South Boston, Va.; one daughter, Joan Chorlton, of South Boston, Va.; two nephews, David and Grier Bodeker, of Danville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and other family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Danville, with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence, of St. Columba Church, as celebrant. Friends may visit with the family at St. Hubert's Chapel in St. Joseph Church.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Danville.
