Marcella Ann Fallon, 93, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at the Geisinger Hospice and Home Health at Maria Hall, Danville.
She was born July 13, 1924, at home in Locust Gap, a daughter of the late Peter and Anne (Duppy) McAndrew. Marcella was married for 47 years to Robert John Fallon who preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1995. They were married June 26, 1948.
Marcella was a 1942 graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School, a 1945 graduate of Geisinger School of Nursing with a registered nurse degree, and received her bachelor's degree in education from Bloomsburg University, and her master's degree in education from Penn State University.
She was employed in her early years as the head nurse in the Geisinger Nursery for 20 years. After continuing her education, she was then employed as a nursing instructor in the Practical Nursing School of the Danville School District, from where she retired.
She was a faithful and committed member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Danville.
Marcella was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, all of whom she adored. She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano, traveling, sewing and playing pinochle with her friends. Marcella loved to bake and cook incomparably delicious food and pastries for her family. She was also very accomplished in making beautiful home improvements for her home and for her family. Marcella was an avid Penn State fan and an avid Bon-Ton shopper. Above all, spending time with her family was her greatest passion and joy in life.
She is survived by one son, Robert Joseph Fallon, of Danville; five daughters, Nancy Wintersteen and her companion Grant McNally, of Acton, Mass., Jeanie Fallon, of Clarks Green, Mary Fallon Shultz and her husband Jeffrey, of Danville, Frances Mordan, of Danville, and Katie Gatto, of Clarks Summit; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters; and her son-in-law, Kimber Mordan in 2017.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Danville.
