Mildred Louise Barnhart Mildred Louise (Swank) Barnhart, 91, of State Street in Danville, passed peacefully to our Lord Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Mildred, known affectionately as Louise most of her life, was born Sept. 24, 1926 in Danville, a daughter of the late Albert N. Swank and Esther R. Swank. She was a life-long resident of Danville. She married Robert D. Barnhart on April 19, 1945. They were married for 38 loving years, until his death in 1983.

Mildred was a homemaker first and foremost, and later worked for and retired from Danville State Hospital. She was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Earlier in life, Mildred greatly enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and playing Bingo. She was well known for preparing delicious food and baked goods for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul H. Swank, Florence T. Jordan, George N. Swank, Eleanor E. Laubach, Mable L. Remick, and Evelyn J. Croft. Mildred was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mildred is survived by her children, Barbara D. Plaster (William) of Va., and Robert W. Barnhart (Dorothy) of Danville; three grandchildren, Larry L. Lynn II (Lori), Jennifer Burch (Bradley), and Erik Barnhart (Bethany); and six great-grandchildren, Noah B. Burch, Delaney E. Lynn, Julia L. Burch, Darcy E. Lynn, Dayton M. Barnhart, and Dixon C. Barnhart.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, July 21 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 84 Lombard Avenue in Danville, followed by the funeral at 11, with Mildred's pastor, Rev. David Layser officiating.

Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Danville, where Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband.
