Mildred A. Weatherill, 92, of 5485 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, formerly of Danville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at the Berkshire Commons in Reading.
She was born June 29, 1925, in Danville, a daughter of the late Walter E. and Anna Bell (Hakes) Metzger. She was married for 72 years to Kenneth F. Weatherill who preceded her in death on June 9, 2017. They were married on Feb. 24, 1945.
Mildred was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, a committed daughter, wife, and mother, as well as a quiet strength for her family.
She was an avid seamstress and loved to can and freeze vegetables. Above all, spending time with her family was her greatest joy in life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Eileen F. and Joe Webb, of Elverson; four grandchildren, Bradley Webb and his wife Deborah, of Mohnton, Keith Webb and his wife Shannon, of Honeybrook, Nathan Weatherill, of California, and Donelle Hanley, of Florida; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth W. Weatherill on April 18, 2005; and five brothers and two sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville, with the Rev. Trevor J. Hahn, of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
