Minnetta M. Shenck, 99, formerly of Danville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Riverside, the daughter of the late Calvin C. Sr. and Bertha (Rudy) Ryan.
She was married 61 years to the late Andrew L. Shenck who preceded her in death June 24, 2000. They were married April 23, 1939.
Minnetta was employed by Milco Industries in Bloomsburg during World War II and for a time afterwards. She worked at many part-time jobs over her lifetime including Bea Butlers in Danville.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside, where she was active in the Women's Society.
One of her greatest enjoyments was bowling with the church bowling league. She was a talented seamstress and thoroughly enjoyed knitting and making crafts. She loved traveling with her husband after his retirement.
She is survived by one daughter, Paula Swanger, of Riverside; one granddaughter, Lori M. Swanger, of Vancouver, Wash.; and one sister, Maybelle Reamer, of Riverside.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at noon Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, with the Rev. Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Burial will be private.
The family will provide flowers.
