Robert Allen "Bob" Riley, 50, of Danville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 28, 2018, at his residence. He was born July 13, 1967, in Lewisburg, a son of Gilbert H. "Butch" and Melanie J. (Diggan) Riley. On July 25, 2016, he married the former Karen M. Szczepanik Riley who survives.
Bob graduated from Watsontown Christian Academy in 1985.
He was employed with UPS for more than 30 years.
He was a devout attendee of First Baptist Church for over 10 years.
Bob was a devoted husband, father and son as well as a major source of strength for his family with his exuberant passion for each of them. His passion was coaching which included softball, baseball, soccer and basketball. He was also a member of the Men's League Softball Team which took him to several states. He will be lovingly remembered by his family for his caring, kindhearted and forgiving heart as well as being a supportive father who was always adamant about abiding by "the rules".
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob is survived by six sons, Shayne, Colton, John, Peyton, Brady and Kayden "K.J."; all of Danville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Gwen and Trey Shrawder of Danville, Heather and Zeb Jones of Ohio, and Mackenzie; three granddaughters, Autumn, Riyah, and Rowen; one grandson, Judah; two brothers, Steven and Matthew Riley; three nephews, Tyler Wise, and Brett and Michael Riley; one niece, Madison Riley, whom he adored; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by one niece, Mackenzie Riley in 2015.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bob's Life at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville, (off 642 East) with the Rev. Dawes J. Dunham officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Harry H. Wonderland. Friends will be received from1 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Robert Riley Children's Education Fund c/o CSFCU 510 E. Market St., Danville, PA 17821.
Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St. Danville.
