Robert William "Bobby" Tarr, 63, of Paxinos, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born in Shamokin, a son of the late Margaret Tarr.
Bob graduated from Danville High School and served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Bob was employed for 23 years by the North Central Maximum-Security Unit, Danville, from where he retired. Most recently, he was employed as a security guard at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for the past 14 years.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Union County Sportsman's Club.
Bob was a selfless and generous man to all who knew him, always being there when you needed him, never turning a blind eye to anyone. In addition to being an outstanding citizen, he enjoyed fishing and golfing and especially enjoyed spending time at the cabin with his friends. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was sitting around a fire pit making memories with his close friends. He loved his two dogs and faithful companions, Simon and Greta
He is survived by his fiancé, Patricia Reichner of Paxinos. In addition to Patricia, he will be greatly missed by numerous friends and co-workers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Robert's life to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Lightstreet United Methodist Church, 1640 Main St., Bloomsburg, with Pastor Jennifer Parks-Snyder officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW Honor Guard Post 40.
