Rodney Lee Bower, 61, of Alexandria, Va., passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Capital Caring Hospice in Virginia following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born March 7, 1955, in Danville, Pa. He is survived by a sister, Mrs Julie Martin, of Coatesville, Pa.
Rodney was a 1973 graduate of Danville High School.
After high school he pursued a career in radio broadcasting and journalism.
Rodney had an acute interest in history, especially the Civil War which grew out of his childhood visits to Gettysburg with his parents. He had a lifetime love for playing music, and for the last few years he had the opportunity to fulfill his childhood dream of composing, performing and touring with his friends, The Salamanders. The final song he was working on was appropriately entitled "Going Back to Mooresburg".
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mooresburg Presbyterian Church
