Shirley L. Pick
She was born June 25, 1933, in Mahoning Township, Montour County, a daughter of the late Mearl and Helen (Ford) Krum. On Nov. 14, 1953, she married Robert W. Pick. They celebrated 59 years of marriage until his death on Jan. 30, 2013.
Shirley graduated from Danville High School in 1951.
She was employed part time by Scott's Florist in Danville. In earlier years, she worked for Terry's Fabric and Dora Dale Dress Shop, both of Danville.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Riverside, where she helped with many church functions and meals.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, gardening, home canning, quilting, and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Duane R. and Yalonda Pick of Troy; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra K. and David Eddy of Montrose, Colo.; four granddaughters, Chelsea Pick McQuade, Megan Pick Oldroyd, Kaylie Pick, and Marlee Pick; two grandsons, Michael and Jason Eddy; three great-grandchildren, Ella Jane Eddy, Nolan Caleb Eddy, and Brynn Noelle Eddy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Allison Pick in infancy; three brothers, Donald, Melvin "Mike", and Harold Krum; and one sister, Carol (Krum) Jones.
Relatives and friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, followed by the service at 1, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 428, Riverside, PA 17868.
Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville.
