Sister Clare's Story
Sister Clare Marie Doyle, 79, of Danville, formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Emmanuel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville.
She was born April 22, 1938, a daughter of the late John Joseph and Edith Mary (Bresch) Doyle.
Clare graduated from St. Hubert's High School, Philadelphia. She also received her bachelor's degree and her master's degree in psychology from LaSalle University.
She was employed as a business education teacher at Lourdesmont. She was a missionary in South Africa working with AIDS patients. Clare was also a counselor for the girls and women served by Sisters of the Good Shepherd from where she retired.
Clare enjoyed listening to music and reading. Clare loved pottery, chocolate, and root beer.
She is survived by one brother, William Doyle and his wife Lois, of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Doyle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Maria Hall, 190 Maria Hall Drive, Danville, with the Rev. Gerard T. Heintzelman as celebrant. Friends and family are invited to a wake at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Sisters of the Good Shepherd Cemetery, 537 Venard Road, Clark Summit.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, 7654 Natural Bridge Road, Saint Louis, MO 63121.
Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville.
