Stanley E. Davis, 84, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 31, 1933, at home in Danville, a son of the late Charles and Ethel (Share) Davis. On Sept. 1, 1956, he married the former Virginia Ann Evans who survives. They celebrated a marital union for 61 years
Stanley was a 1952 graduate of Danville High School and served his country in the Army from 1956 to 1958.
He was employed for 44 years at TRW, Danville, retiring in 1995.
He was a faithful member of Mahoning Presbyterian Church, Danville. His other memberships include the Danville Elks, the East End Fire Company and the Washies Fire Company.
Stanley was an avid Danville High School football fan and a Penn State fan. He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife and his friends, especially to the beach. He treasured his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be warmly remembered by them all.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry E. and Maxine Davis of Danville; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Davis of Danville; three granddaughters and their spouses, Allison and Joseph McKeown of West Lawn, Stephanie and Kyle Long of Catawissa, and Marissa and Triston Held of Holly Ridge, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Jameson and Shannon, and Ethan and Jason; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold "Butch" and Mary Ann Davis of Danville; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, Steven Buck on May 8, 2012; and four brothers, Charles "Sunny", Thomas, Kenneth, and Robert Davis; and three sisters, Kathleen Buck, Alma "Pat" Doebler, and Marion St. Clair.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Stanley's life at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Mahoning Presbyterian Church, 106 E. Mahoning St., Danville. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
