Viola A. Kremer, 87, of Purple Heart Highway, Milton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Milton Nursing and Rehab.

Born in Stillwater on Aug. 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Atta (Karns) Hess. She was married to Edwin R. Kremer on March 23, 1952.

Viola was a 1948 graduate of Benton High School and she attended the Thompson Institute in Harrisburg. She worked for two years as a medical secretary at Geisinger Medical Center, and then she was a homemaker and a farmer. Viola was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Potts Grove. She enjoyed doing word searches and other puzzles and she liked to read. She also enjoyed crocheting, square dancing and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edwin; two sons, Ray Kremer, of Danville and Barry Kremer and wife, Bonnie, of Danville; five daughters, Rebecca Squier and husband Carl, of Milton, Ellen McWilliams and husband Timothy, of Danville, Alice Satteson and husband Roger, of Milton, Pamela Knapp and husband Jere, of Danville, and Crystal Hagenbuch and husband Carey, of Danville; a sister, Janet Rice, of New Freeport; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Viola was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Hess; two sisters, Marqueen Bankes and Phyllis Martz; and two great-grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Snader.

Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Glasoe officiating.

Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
