Wayne Edwin Eister

Wayne Edwin Eister, 89, of Danville, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center. Danville.
He was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Shamokin, a son of the late Uriah B. and Jennie Grace (Wolfgang) Eister.

He was married for 44 years to the former S. Louise Haddock who preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1994. He was a devoted husband to Dot Stump Willoughby for 18 years, who survives. They were married September 25, 1999.?

Wayne graduated from Shamokin High School in 1947. He served his country in the Navy as a Corpsman for two years, stationed in Bethesda, Md.
??Wayne was employed by Danville State Hospital as a medical attendant and later retired after 39 years of service from Merck and Company.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville. An avid music lover and accomplished trombonist, Wayne played in a wide number of area bands where he was wholeheartedly involved, including the Danville Community Band. He was also a member of the American Music Association and the American Modeler's Association.
Wayne enjoyed woodworking and building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. He will be greatly missed by his family whom he adored.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey W. and Patty Eister of Danville, and Kevin E. and Kara Eister of Burnt Hills, N.Y.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha K. and Andrew J. Pehowic and Barbara L. and James D. Roth, all of Danville, and Robyn E. and Todd A. Styer, of Millville; one stepson, Jeffrey A. Willoughby and his wife Becca, of Danville; one stepdaughter, Elaine L. Kuhn and her husband Richard of Selinsgrove; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, M. Louise Eister and Caroline Schrepple, both of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen L. Eister Gerst on March 18, 2018; and one brother, Myron L. Eister in January of 2012.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend at celebration of Wayne's life at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 215 E. Market St., Danville, with the Rev. Trevor Hahn officiating. Friends will be received from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. Military rites will be accorded by the Danville American Legion Post 40.??

I was in the partner and friendshipband Kolpingkapelle Kindsbach,Germany till 1994.I went with them in 1990 to Danville for one time.But this time was so nice and beautyful.I remember wayne and his hife,are verry nice people and will never forget them.I will condolenece to Kevin and his family,be strong because I know how it is to lost a great and lovely dad.
