Alice M. Carr, 62, of Danville, passed away in her home on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2017.
She was born Oct. 2, 1954, in Danville, a daughter of the late Norman and Sarah (Starr) Vognetz. She was married for 23 years to the late John "Jack" Carr.
Alice graduated from Danville High School.
She worked at Maria Joseph Manor, the Danville State Hospital, and the Danville Sub Shop where people still miss her hoagies.
She was a past member of the American Legion and VFW auxiliaries.
Alice loved to play bingo, her computer, and was never afraid to tell you what she was thinking. She was known for her sense of humor and was always making people laugh.
She is survived by one brother, Dick Vognetz and wife Carol, of Danville; sisters, Cricket Vognetz and companion Dave Guffey, of Danville, Gloria Stofflet and husband Ty, of Tennessee; brother-in-law, Jim Hack; nieces and nephews, Angel Mullen (children: Sarah, J.T., and Ally) and companion Ken Lesser, Rich and Katie Vognetz, Kris and John Reibsome, Harold and Shelly Hack, Rick and Heidi Vognetz, Kim, Vonnie, and Lester Millar; a close friend, Mary Fausnaught; stepsons, John and David Carr; and many other extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Roland Starr and Sis Hack.
A celebration of Alice's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, in St. Joseph Cemetery, Danville.
