Darlis Mattie Starr, 88, of 35 Vine St., Danville, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Maria Joseph Emmanuel Center in Danville.
She was born on July 31, 1928, in Danville, a daughter of the late Floyd Elwood and Elizabeth Ann (Boone) Hulsizer. She married Donald A. Starr on June 2, 1947, and shared 60 years together until his death on May 2, 2007.
Darlis worked at Roselyn Yarns in Danville for 15 years, retiring in 1966. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Danville. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, shopping, and decorating her home.
Surviving are her children, Diane Webb and her husband Mark, Cindy Mertz and her husband Rich, all of Danville, and Donnie Starr, of Bloomsburg; two granddaughters, Heather Temple and her husband Sam, and Jennifer Haney and her husband Paul, all of Danville; two grandsons, Mark P. Webb and his wife Brenda, of Catawissa, and Rich Mertz and his partner Sharon, of Danville; two great-grandchildren, Logan Temple and Briella Webb; and sisters, Barbara Harris and husband Thomas, Madeline Lewis and husband James, and Marion Cox and husband Gary.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Jean Randler in 1977; and sisters, Joan Rothermel and Janet Leitzel.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, with her pastor, the Rev. James M. Lease officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Danville.
The family will provide flowers.
