December 3, 1953 October 13, 2016 Donald Edward Baylor passed away peacefully at his home in Oxnard, California at the age of 62. He was a devoted father, husband, son, and friend.
Don was born in Danville, Pa., on Dec. 3,1953 to Melvin and Ethel Baylor. Don graduated from Danville High School in 1971 and went on to serve his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. Of the 20 years in service, Don spent 14 years on the White House photo staff. He was on the White House photo staff for Presidents Ford, Carter, Reagan and Bush. Afterwards, he returned home with his family and served his community at the Danville Water Treatment Plant for 15 years. After retirement, Don and his wife, Melody, moved to North Carolina in 2007, and subsequently moved to Oxnard, California in 2015 to be closer to their daughter, Michelle.
Don married his best friend, Melody, in Omaha, Nebraska on March 22, 1975. They were married for 41 years. Don loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed archery, golf, baseball, and bowling.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Melody, and his daughter Michelle Harati. Don was preceded in death by his loving parents, Melvin and Ethel Baylor of Danville.
He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. In memory of Donald, Military Funeral Honors will be performed at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California at 9am on Friday, October 28, 2016.
