Emily K. Stookey, 69, of Bloom Road, Danville, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the Geisinger Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 28, 1946, a daughter of the late Roland Stookey and Jennie (Johnston) Stookey.
Emily was an accountant in the Bloomsburg area for many years and retired last year from White Haven Center.
She loved to show her horses, as well as doing calligraphy. She loved her cats "Mystery" and "Jumper." She was an avid Bible reader who enjoyed spending time with the Lord and volunteered with Buckhorn Ministries for seven years.
She is survived by her cousins, Susan Reedy, Richard Hunsinger, and Kathyrn Beardsley; a niece and a nephew, Jennifer Tyson and Paul Stookey; among other cousins and relatives; as well as her longtime close friends, Sue Neitz, Janice Riley, Claire Skerda, Pete Skerda, Lauretta Ferris, and Sandra Hess.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Dawes Dunham of Danville First Baptist Church officiating.
