Joseph J. "Joe" Hagenbuch, 89, of Narehood Road, Danville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at his home.
Born Nov. 25, 1927, in Liberty Township, Montour County, he was the son of the late Raymond L. and Emma Charlotte "Lottie" (Tanner) Hagenbuch. On Dec. 19, 1958, he married the former Bernice Bennett and they celebrated 52 years of marriage until her death June 24, 2013.
He was a 1946 graduate of Danville High School and retired from TRW, Danville, where he had worked many years. He also farmed the family homestead in Liberty Township most of his life.
He was a member of Trinity Oak Grove Lutheran Church and past-president of the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Danville.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa L. and Neil Hess and Lisa H. and Andrew Jones, all of Danville; and four granddaughters, Kelsey Hess, attending Florida International University, Mallory Jones, attending University of South Carolina, Mackenzie Jones, attending University of Delaware, and Katie Hess, attending University of Maine.
Preceding him in death besides his wife and parents was a brother, R. Larue Hagenbuch, who died Oct. 8, 2011.
In keeping with Joe's wishes, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Trinity Oak Grove Lutheran Church, 130 Hagenbuch Loop Road, Danville, with Pastor Gretchen Johanson officiating. It was Joe's request to delay services until such a time that his grandchildren would be on a break from their colleges. Everyone attending the service is invited to light refreshments and a time of fellowship with the family at the church immediately following the service.
Burial in Columbia Hill Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
