Mary's Story

Mary L. Jordan, 73, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Oct. 3, 1943, in York, a daughter of the late Anthony J. and Doris B. (Ditzler) Mann. She was married for 39 years to Samuel R. Jordan Jr. who preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2003. They were married on April 4, 1964.

Mary graduated from Danville High School.
She was employed as a nurse's aide at Goldstar Nursing Home, Danville and Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville, until 2004, from where she retired.
Mary was an avid Elvis fan. She loved spending time at the family cabin in Laceyville. She also enjoyed playing Farkle, working on jigsaw puzzles and watching wildlife. Mary's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa C. Jordan, of Sayre, Pa., and Michelle L. Farmer and her husband James B., of Wilmington, N.C.; five grandchildren, Sarah Weber, Jacob, Rachel, Rebecca and Grace Farmer; four brothers, Bob Mann, Anthony J. Mann, John Mann and Brian Molter; and two sisters, Doris J. Simmons and Dorothy Swartz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents who raised her throughout her teenage years, Doris and C. Philip Molter; one brother, Michael J. Mann; and one sister, Catherine E. Campbell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville with Pastor Greg Molter officiating. Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will follow in Straub's Lutheran Cemetery, Danville.
