Mary Seesholtz, 96, of Danville, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph, Danville, where she had been a guest since June 14, 2016.
She was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Hiram and Sarah Gross, of Bloomsburg. She was married for 32 years to Donald E. Whitenight who preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1972, and to Charles R. Seesholtz Sr. for 17 years who also preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1992.
Mary was a 1937 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and had served as a class officer.
She was last employed by Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she worked for many years as a medical secretary.
She was member of the Shiloh Church of Christ, Danville.
Mary enjoyed gardening, shopping for antiques, visiting flea markets and garage sales, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her four grandchildren, ChristopherJames Ryan, Beverly Joy Becker, Jody Katherine Olympia, and Jonathan Keith Whitenight, and her 11 great-grandchildren. In recent years, Mary also developed a close and special bond with her caregivers.
She is survived by her son, D. Keith Whitenight and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Marks Whitenight, of Huddleston, Va.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally K. Ryan, and brother, Alfred Gross.
A private graveside service limited to family members will be held in Elan Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Andrews officating at the convenience of the family.
