Samuel H. "Sam" Schlee, 67, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Lancashire Hall, Lancaster.
He was born in Danville, a son of the late Samuel F. and Mary (Herman) Schlee.
In his earlier years, Sam was employed by the Danville State Hospital.
An avid coin collector, Sam enjoyed learning about history, especially the World War II era. He was also an enthusiastic story teller and enjoyed sharing a good tale with company. Sam was a dear friend and admirer of his late Aunt Claraline Baylor and spent many of his last years in her company.
Sam is survived by five cousins, Lewis Baylor, Valerie Modell, and Brian, Scott and James Bowen.
Sam was preceded in death by his brother, David J. Schlee.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shiloh Reformed Cemetery, Bloom Road, Danville.
Arrangements are by the Buch Funeral Home, Manheim.
