Anna May Megargel, 94, passed peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022.

She was born in Indiana, Pa. in 1927 to Harry and Lucille Hare. Anna moved to Riverside in June of 1953, where she and her husband, Richard H. Morris Jr. lovingly raised their family.

Anna worked at Bowman's department store in Danville in the late 1960s. She then was the Deputy Registrar and Recorder of Montour County for 20 years before retiring in 1989 after the passing of her husband, Richard. Anna was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading and playing cards with her friends. She never missed any of her children's or grandchildren's activities, in which she was very involved. She tremendously enjoyed her summer vacations with her family in Ocean City, NJ. Anna never met a piece of chocolate that she didn't like. She would even leave a trail of Hershey Kiss flags behind her so she wouldn't get lost.

On July 11, 1998, Anna lovingly joined into marriage with Calvin "Cal" Megargel of Danville whom she remained married to until his passing on May 20, 2013. Anna and Cal shared many great and loving adventures together. They enjoyed traveling to many different destinations across the country. They were faithful supporters of the Danville football and basketball teams. Anna and Cal regularly attended St. John's UCC in Mausdale.

Anna's pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She will be incredibly missed by all. She is survived by daughter, Deborah A. Morris of Riverside; and son, Richard H. "Rick" Morris III and wife Kim of Catawissa. Also surviving are Anna's two granddaughters whom she cherished and adored, Sara (Curry) Conrad and husband Jarrod of Danville and Lindsay Starr and fiancé Dexter Rovenolt of Lewisburg. Anna was also a proud great-grandmother of three adoring great-grandchildren, Anna and Garrett Rovenolt of Lewisburg, and Sawyer Conrad of Danville. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Anna was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Helen Dugan; and brothers, Harry and Tom Hare, all of Harrisburg.

Anna's family would like to extend their gratitude to Anna's compassionate caregivers, the staff of Vintage Knolls assisted living community, and the palliative care team at Geisinger Medical Center. Everyone who knew and loved Anna will remember her witty humor and her zest for life.

Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home of Danville.
