He was preceded in death by hais parents; his son, John Cameron Bausch; and his sister, Carol Jean Dalton.

Cameron graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College in 1964, receiving his bachelor's degree in elementary education. He then went on to complete graduate level work in elementary education at The Pennsylvania State University, obtaining his master's degree plus thirty. Over his professional tenure, he was involved with Penn State as an active member of the College of Education Alumni Board, mentoring and teaching aspiring elementary educators.

His passion for learning and education was evident throughout his 40 year career during his position as elementary principal in the State College Area School District at Corl Street and Easterly Parkway elementary schools, eventually serving as the elementary coordinator for the district. In 1997 he was recognized as a Pennsylvania Distinguished Principal and also as a National Distinguished Principal, an honor that filled him with joy. Cameron completed his career as Assistant to The Superintendent of SCASD, serving until 2007, when he retired.

Cameron was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 40 years as a parent volunteer for the bell choir, as well as serving on several call committees and the church board. He was also an active member of Kiwanis and volunteered for Meals-On-Wheels.

His greatest satisfaction besides education were his wife, grandchildren, family, friends and neighbors, as he always had time for a visit or to help with a project.
