Shirley, British Columbia - Linda Martin Kreiss died Nov 14, 2024, at her home in Shirley, British Columbia, Canada. She was born June 9, 1943, the daughter of William Clifford and Rose (Misenheimer) Martin, and grew up on her parents' farm just outside of Covington, IN. She graduated from Covington High School in 1961. She attended Purdue University (B.A) and Indiana State University (M.A.). She is survived by her husband, Robert Kreiss; her sister, Camilla Mounts of Spokane, WA; two children, Mike Alenduff of Lafayette, IN, and Susie (Charlie) Langston of Charlottesville, IN; 4 grandchildren, Renee (Alex) Hirsch, Lindsey (Abby) Smyth, Trent Alenduff, and Chris (Margaret) Smyth, 2 step-grandchildren, Ryan Langston and Melissa Langston; 2 nephews; and 16 step-great and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Martin Alenduff. She was an Indiana elementary teacher in Mentone, Williamsport, North Miami, and Kentland. She was a librarian, a law librarian, and customer service representative for Lexis-Nexis in Ohio. She volunteered at an elementary school, community art show, and symphony orchestra in Sooke, BC, Canada. She was an enthusiastic ballroom dancer, loved to travel, hike, sang in a community choir, played bridge, enjoyed the arts. She was a warm, loving, carefree, and happy person, and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held on June 21, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at the Beef House in Covington Indiana.
