Danville, Pennsylvania - Lois Elizabeth Burrows, 100 of Danville, went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2025.
Lois was born on Oct. 9, 1924, in O'Fallon, Illinois, a daughter of the late James Frances and Florence (Meadows) Devlin.
Lois worked for a short time in a local silk mill, but the calling for her life was to be a homemaker. Lois loved being a mother and grandmother. She was well-known for being a tremendous cook. She loved cooking for and entertaining her family and friends. Lois extensively traveled the United States and Mexico. She was a proficient seamstress and embroiderer.
Lois was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Danville.
Lois was a member of the Happy Joe's Club and the Danville Moose.
On Sept. 21, 1946, Lois married her beloved husband, Job Anderson Burrows. Together they built a beautiful life, raising five children and they have thirty-five grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Job A. Burrows, on Feb. 4, 1986; son, Joby A. Burrows, of Danville; daughter, Karen Marie Vargo, of Danville; brothers, Gerald Devlin, of Shamokin, James Devlin, of Levittown, and Francis Michael Devlin, of Oregon; sisters, Rose Abare and Florence Mikolik, of Shamokin.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Donna Bowman, of Danville, Lois Stankevich and her husband, Tom of Walkersville, Md., and Jo Powell, of Danville; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Eileen Weikel of Shamokin.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. in St. Hubert's Chapel, within St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 68 Center St., Danville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 with Fr. Kenneth Roth as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 2400 Trevorton Road, Coal Township.
