Robert E. Neidig, 83, of Danville, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the home of his daughter, Debra, in Danville.
He was born in Ralpho Township on April 5, 1934, a son of the late Irvin and Laura (Richie) Neidig. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Nancy Dinger, in 1986. He is survived by his second wife, the former Mary Petroski.
He was formerly employed as a crossing watchman for the Reading Railroad in Shamokin and then was employed by TRW and Textron in Danville until his retirement in 1996.
He was a member of the Danville Moose Lodge and the Washingtonville Fire Company. He was an avid gardner.
Robert is survived by four children, Walter Neidig and his wife Diane, of Gore, Va., Linda Folk and her husband Ralph, of Sunbury, Louise Watson and her boyfriend, Scott Personette, of Sugar Loaf, and Debra Bartlet and her husband, Larry, of Danville. Also surviving are two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Sara Klinger, of Shamokin; and a brother, Paul Neidig, of Philipsburg.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason, who he raised.
A celebration of life service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
