Ruth A. Kutz, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 15, 2024, after health issues and a stay at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Ruth was born on Jan. 17, 1940, daughter of the late George and Violet (Rinker) Starr.
Ruth was a graduate of Danville School District. She began working in the food service department at Geisinger Medical Center in 1973, a position she held until her retirement in 2000.
Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, watching baseball, relaxing at home with the company of her cat, Kelly. She also enjoyed going to Heeter's for breakfast.
Ruth was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, Danville.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kutz Sr.
In addition to her husband, Ruth was also preceded in death by her birth parents, Paul and Helen Bressler; her adoptive parents, George and Violet (Rinker) Starr; two brothers, George Starr Jr. and Walter Starr; five sisters, Pauline Jones, Betty Burkland, Dorothy Klock, Alicia Bridge, and Mary Prosseda.
Ruth is survived by her son, Robert Kutz Jr. of Danville; one brother, Dave Bressler of Berwick and numerous nieces and cousins.
Services will be privately held Wednesday, Oct. 23 and at the convenience of Ruth's family. Burial will take place in the Episcopal Cemetery, Danville with Pastor Mary Schmotzer officiating.
