Stewart A. Holdren Jr., 80, of Berwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at his residence.

He was born June 23, 1941, in Danville, the son of the late Stewart A. Sr. and Margaret (Reinaker) Holdren.

Stewart graduated from Danville Area High School and lettered in track and field.

He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force as a confidential courier serving all over Europe.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Linda L. (Harmon) Holdren. They were married Nov. 12, 1999.

Stewart was employed as a tradesman at Danville State Hospital from where he retired in 1998.

He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville, and a current member of First United Methodist Church of Ridge Road. Stewart was a lifetime member of the Danville Moose.

Stewart enjoyed cooking, working outside, hunting, traveling the country with his wife, and working security at the fair. He enjoyed going to dad and daughter weekends while his daughter was in college. Stewart also enjoyed looking for baseballs with his son Nathaniel before any minor league baseball game they attended and visiting him in Montana. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family.

He will be remembered for his kindness to everyone, his attentiveness to his wife, and his many grocery store adventures.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Nathaniel Holdren of Livingston, Montana and Billy Baker of Berwick,; as well as two daughters, Kelly Fox and her husband Matt of Danielsville, Pa. and Barbie Baker of Berwick. Also surviving is one grandson, Abbade Fox.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Savage; and one niece, June Savage.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Stewart's Life to be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville, PA 17821. Friends will be received from noon until the time of service.

Burial will follow in Straub's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Danville, with military rites accorded.

The family will provide flowers.
