Susan J. Dressler Obituary

Danville - On Aug. 5, 2025, we lost a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Susan Jane "Sue" Dressler. She was born on July 16, 1944, in Danville, Pa., and lived a life filled with service, love and dedication to her family and community.

Sue was the daughter of the late Jacob and Laura Jeanne (Lyons) Kessler and was also lovingly raised by her stepmother, Rubye (Mather) Kessler.

She spent 46 years at the Pine Barn Inn, where she rose to the role of General Manager. Her passion for hospitality and service extended beyond her retirement, as she continued to contribute to the community by working for Scott's Floral for several years after her time at the Pine Barn. Sue was a fixture in the community, giving her time to numerous organizations including the Iron Heritage Festival, the American Heart Association, and Soroptimist. She was an avid reader and enjoyed participating in two book clubs, always eager to share her love of literature with others.

Her devotion to her faith was evident through her membership at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, where she was an active participant in church activities. Sue also had a deep love for the beach, where she spent over 40 years enjoying the company of her close friends.

She was married to her high school sweetheart, Robert, for 63 years, a partnership built on love, unwavering support and deep commitment.

In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by her daughter, Kellie and her husband Jeff Blue; her son Robert Jr. and his wife, Rebecca Dressler; her brother Tom, and his wife, Robin Kessler; her sister, Cindy Kessler; her brother in-law, Boyd "Skip," and his wife Cathy Dressler; her sister in-law, Patricia Fahringer; and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. Above all, she will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Hannah, Kyle, Jagger, Dylan and Lennon, her pride, her joy, and the loves of her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Susan's Life to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, 156 East Market St., Danville, Pa., with the Reverend Lisa Work officiating.
